A truck decal created by Hornet Signs, a decal company in Texas, received countless complaints for its blatant depiction of rape culture with a woman tied in the back of the truck, seemingly unconscious with her face masked by her hair. The tailgate image was so realistic that the police received multiple 911 calls after nearby drivers believed there was actually woman in distress. Locals were not the only ones disturbed by the image, which has been criticized on a national level by organizations as widely recognized as UniteWomen.org. Like Belvedere Vodka, this company has also made donations to a related charity, in this case the Advocacy Center for Crime Victims and Children; however, critics do not appear impressed.

How does your reaction to this image compare to the original, as there is a male in this position instead of the woman?
Do you think rape culture advertisements like this (obvious) are more damaging to society's perception of women, or do you think subtle ads have a greater impact by influencing the subconscious?
