Carl's Jr. has exploited the sexuality of female celebrities to sell their products in countless commercial advertisements. In such ads, the women are portrayed in an extremely sexually suggestive manner while ketchup, which resembles blood, drips down their bodies. An example can be viewed from our next blog post. Before the ketchup commercials began, the first in this line of controversial commercials featured Paris Hilton washing a car (or rather, washing herself) in a skimpy swimsuit. This sparked a reaction from the Parents Television Council which took action against this issue on the basis that its airing violated the FCC's laws concerning "appropriate time to air indecent material."
